Tahsin Ünüvar was born in Istanbul in 1956 and began his music career with the band Kardaşlar. Later joining the band Dervişan, Ünüvar plays the flute and saxophone. During the mid-1970s, a period when wind instruments were gaining prominence, he was in high demand by numerous bands. He contributed to the recordings of songs such as “Mutlaka Yavrum” “Kavga” and “Parka” with Dervişan. He turned towards jazz music and performed at venues and festivals through projects bearing his own name. After living in London for a long period, he returned to Türkiye and participated as a musician on various pop and rock albums. He also worked with the Istanbul City Orchestra and played alongside bands such as Bulutsuzluk Özlemi. Ünüvar approaches music by blending traditional Anatolian pop-rock elements with jazz and modern musical influences. A master of wind instruments like the flute and saxophone, he brings dynamism to his stage performances through his improvisational skills. His music stands out for its fusion of diverse styles and its unique musical perspective.
