Jef Giansily

Born in Paris and based in Istanbul, pianist Jef Giansily is involved in numerous projects in various
formations, collaborating with European, Turkish, and American musicians.
His album Sketches (Cirle) is an example of collaborations with prominent musicians from the Istanbul
scene, such as guitarist Sarp Maden, drummer Ferit Odman or vocalist Sibel Köse.
Recent collaborations include trumpeter Hermon Mehari, drummer Darrell Green, Apostolos Sideris,
Charlotte Wassy, Gautier Garrigue, Ricky Ford, Seamus Blake, Andre Williams, Imer Demirer, and
many others from diverse musical backgrounds.
His quintet album Insight, recorded in Paris in the spring of 2024, is set to be released on May
15th on the Fresh Sound New Talent label.
