Born in Istanbul in 1975 to a Finnish mother and a Turkish father, Hülya Sezgün Yıldız graduated second in her class from the Interior Architecture Department of Mimar Sinan University’s Faculty of Architecture in 1997. While actively pursuing her career as an interior designer, she took jazz vocal lessons from Randy Esen and Sibel Köse, vocal lessons from Tülay Uyar, and harmony lessons from Donovan Mixon and Cem Tuncer.
In the early years of her musical career, she performed at numerous venues, including Istanbul Nardis Jazz Club, Bodrum Pannonica Jazz Club, and Stella Jazz Club, as well as at various events, alongside artists such as Selçuk Sun, Neşet Ruacan, Cem Tuncer, Ali Perret, Yahya Dai, Yavuz Akyazıcı, Ricky Fort, Dave Allen, Önder Focan, Matt Hall, Bilal Karaman, and Bora Çeliker.
In 2006, she decided to live in Bodrum. She continued performing for ten years with the Sis’n Bros Jazz Project, a piano and saxophone group she founded. In 2015, she performed the song “Rae” on Spanish artist José Luis Santacruz’s album “Stephanie Dreams,” released in Hollywood.
She performed as a soloist and group soloist in the mixed musical organized by Bodrum Karsanat in 2017-2018. He also gave special jazz performances with various jazz musicians.
She has performed Finnish jazz at various events in Turkey and Finland. In addition to her interior design career in Bodrum, the artist has also organized events such as the Jam Session on World Jazz Day with Umut Ünleyen, the Bodrum Surfer Caravan Stage for the Bodrum Jazz Festival organized by the Ankara Jazz Association, and the METU Alumni Association Jazz Night at the Bodrum Khai Hotel. Sharing the stage with Eren Noyan at these events and many others, Hülya Sezgün Yıldız continues to perform with the Blue En-semble, which includes Umut Ünleyen, Siney Yılmaz, Okay Aynur, Umut Pelit, and Umut Yenilmez.
