Mustafa İpekçioğlu, a Turkish folk music saz (a type of stringed instrument) master, was born in Istanbul into a family of musicians. His father, Mehmet İpekçioğlu, discovered his talent at the age of 5. He is a graduate of the Istanbul Technical University State Conservatory, Instrumental Education Department. He works as a lecturer at Eastern Mediterranean University. He has two sisters. He started performing on stage with his father from the age of 12. He has been immersed in music for over 20 years. His grandfather’s name is also Mustafa. His father is Mehmet İpekçioğlu and his mother is Sevim İpekçioğlu. His paternal ancestry is from Adıyaman. To date, he has accompanied many artists with the bağlama, including İbrahim Tatlıses, Orhan Gencebay, Zara, and Muazzez Ersoy. He accompanies contestants in the O Ses Çocuklar (The Voice Kids), Rising Star, and O Ses Türkiye (The Voice Turkey) competitions along with Tarık Sezer. In 2017, he continued his music career as a soloist with the single “Korkma Kalbim” (Don’t Be Afraid, My Heart).
