Jef Giansily Trio

Jef Giansily is a French pianist who currently resides in Istanbul.As a leader of his own band the music he writes and performs is usually characterized by a dynamic approach where changing moods or stretching tempos often occur within a song while lyricism is given a central role. This performance will display a full repertoire of original music by the pianist. Jef Giansily’s last album Sketches was released on the label Circle which he founded in 2009 aiming to capture encounters between improvising musicians of varied horizons.
He is currently the director of EFMI, the Francophone Music School of Istanbul.
