Dila Gödekli, who started music at a very early age with classical piano, also in addition to her ORFF educa-tion, started studying percussion instruments part-time at Istanbul University State Conservatory, but she didn’t continue. Later, when she was studying at Saint Benoît French High School, she joined the Boğaziçi Jazz Choir and had the opportunity to take part in various stages for 3 years. In Vienna, where she went for her university education, she took part in important projects with the Jugendchorakademie Wien (JCAW – Vienna Youth Choir Academy) such as Johannes Brahms – Ein Deutsches Requiem, Carl Orff – Carmina Burana, Ludwig van Beethoven – 9th Symphony.
She met Jazz also at a young age thanks to her mother, who made her listen to the standards and took her to the concerts. She was very impressed by Chick Corea’s concert, which she went to at the age of 11 and decided that the direction she wanted to continue was jazz.
Dila currently continues her jazz vocal education at MUK (Musik und Kunst Universität Wien) and keep pla-ying her concerts in Vienna at stages such as Porgy & Bess, Zwe, Jazzland,…
