Cansu Nihal Akarsu & Erdem Özkan Band “When Billy Met Sassy”

This concert is inspired by the powerful artistic connection between Billy Eckstine and Sarah Vaughan, a partnership that helped shape the language of modern jazz singing. Drawing from the legacy that emerged within the Billy Eckstine Orchestra, a female and a male vocalist come together to present a musical dialogue through classic jazz repertoire. The project’ is brought to life with two very strong vocalist of jazz scenes, Cansu Nihal Akarsu and Erdem Özkan. The very first performance coincides, as a meaningful coincidence, with Sarah Vaughan’s birthday.
