Barış Alp Dönmez Quintet

Born in Istanbul in 1999, Barış Alp Dönmez started making band music during his years at Galatasaray High School. He later attended the BAU Jazz Certificate Program where he had the opportunity to work with some of Turkey’s leading jazz musicians, including Başak Yavuz, Sibel Köse, Baki Duyarlar, and Şevket Akıncı. After attending the Berklee College of Music Summer Program in 2017, he was awarded a scholarship to Berklee’s undergraduate degree program. During his studies, he worked with internationally acclaimed jazz vocalist Peter Eldridge (New York Voices) and attended vocal masterclasses by Kurt Elling. Since returning to Turkey in 2021,
Dönmez has continued his jazz vocal studies with Sibel Köse. He currently studies under Randy Esen and performs regularly in Istanbu
