Batu Şallıel & Istanbul Swing Cats

Founded under the leadership of internationally award-winning tenor saxophonist Batu Şallıel, Istanbul Swing Cats is a unique ensemble that brings together leading soloists from the Turkish jazz scene with future stars.

The group brings genres like Cool Jazz, Hard Bop, and Modal Jazz, which emerged in New York in the early 1950s, to the Istanbul stage. The combination of four-wind soloists and a traditional jazz quartet, combined with unique Combo Jazz Band arrangements, delivers both melodic richness and high energy.

Their repertoire spans a wide range, from unforgettable jazz classics by Grammy-nominated composers such as Dave Pell, Oliver Nelson, and Marty Paich to the sophisticated harmonies and street rhythms of modern jazz.
