Kemal Ergün Quintet

Istanbul-based tenor saxophonist Kemal Ergün is recognized for his energetic and distinctive style rooted in the traditions of Hard Bop, Post Bop, and modern jazz. After studying at Bahçeşehir University Jazz Academy in 2018, he quickly became one of the notable emerging voices in the Turkish jazz scene. Ergün has performed at major festivals including the Istanbul Jazz Festival, Akbank Jazz Festival, and Akra Jazz Festival, collaborating with a wide range of ensembles and projects. With the Kemal Ergün Quintet, he shapes his repertoire around his deep interest in modern jazz composers and improvisational expression. Known for his rich tone, melodic phrasing, and strong stage presence, Ergün brings the vibrant spirit of contemporary jazz to life on the Turkish stage.
