We will commemorate our pianist friend Emre Tukur, who died on November 9, 2024, with our guest musician friends.
Emre Tukur was born in 1965. He graduated from Galatasaray High School, Bogazici University, Department of Sociology and Paris ISCOM (Institut Superieur de Communication et de Publicite) with a master's degree. On the other hand, he completed his Professional Tourist Guide training and received his badge in 1985. Since 1985, he has continued his guiding activities in Turkish, Swedish, French and English within various tourism agencies. He worked in the incoming and outgoing operations of Fest Travel from 2005 until his death. Emre Tukur, who focused more on Byzantine History, Early Christian History and Military History, also made a separate career as a professional jazz musician. He started his piano education with Zeren Ulusoy and continued with Verda Ün, Ekrem Zeki Ün, Muammer Sun and Kerem Görsev in Istanbul. In 1986, he represented our country in the Eurovision Song Contest with the composition of Melih Kibar and Ilhan Irem. He has taken part in many projects and concerts since then. He gave education in various branches of jazz music (advanced jazz harmony, Latin jazz techniques, jazz history) at a private university.
